Peru's Peter Lopez ranked fourth at Beijing Olympics

Peruvian tae kwon do athlete Peter Lopez was unable to win the bronze medal and got fourth in the men's 68-kilogram competition in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Peru’s Peter López was defeated by Servet Tazegul of Turkey by a final score of 1-0 at the USTB Gymnasium in Beijing, China.

Peter López, 26, reached the Men's 68kg Bronze Medal contest after beating Australian Burak Hasan in the preliminaries and Nigeria's Isah Adam Mohammad in the quarter-finals.

Unfortunately the Peruvian athlete lost to American Mark Lopez in the semifinals.

On the other hand, South Korea's Son Tae Jin scored a kick in the final second to defeat Mark Lopez for the gold medal in the same competition.

Peru has won four medals in its Olympic history, three gold medals in shooting and a silver medal in women's volleyball at Seoul 88.
